Adventure/Fiction
What happens when a group of old friends meet in the city to reminisce and discuss world affairs, not to mention a few cocktails. The conversation eventually comes around to the crisis off the coast of East Africa and the Somali pirates. No one can understand how this can be happening.
Each of the old friends has what Liam Neeson spoke of in “Taken” and that’s possessing a unique set of skills. With these skills they could solve the problem in a matter of weeks. The only thing they need is money. Finally, one comes up with the required financing and the plot is hatched.
It takes time, energy, recourses, knowing the right people and some thinking outside the box, but they have a plan. Then they execute the plan.
The story is complex and the solutions complicated. They have to travel the world and operate under the radar, negotiating in some less than desirable areas with equally less than desirable people.
Like any venture there are successes and failures and the constant looking over one’s shoulder for legitimate authorities who would end their enterprise.
It’s a mildly factual accounting, or pure fiction, take your pick, bit it’s a fun read that will hold your attention throughout.
